FAQ - Frequently asked questions about our lists and our work

1. Are the smartlists.online lists compliant with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)?

Yes, our data and detailed information meet the requirements of the EU GDPR. For data protection reasons, we are not allowed to provide you with purely personal data, only publicly available data and data that companies and managers provide to us for these purposes or publicly, for example on the company homepage (e.g. Teamseite  or sales contact page). provide. The latter also includes direct dialing numbers and personal email addresses, otherwise we take actionback to the imprint. There we also find the company addresses and managing director names.

2. Where can you find the data in the lists?

The basis is classic market research and research, supplemented by modern data analysis. We use web crawlers to read websites and press releases, go through the commercial register, federal gazette, announcements in the cartel office, etc. We also access numerous company registers and other databases, which are often subject to a fee. Our long-standing, extensive contact networks from investment, participation business and advice always help to find new contacts, including our customers. Association networks provide valuable information on industry structures.
 

3. How complex is the creation of such a list?

The creation of a list with, for example, 150-200 contacts usually takes significantly more than  200 hours, from more than 500 participants up to 1,000 hours depending on the branch, spread over many months, sometimes years. This is particularly the case for data on the mostly publicity-shy single family offices. Time that is saved for you and your employees. And at very fair costs. Some of the lists can be reduced even further, just tell us exactly what you need.

4. How and when do I get the lists?
As a rule, you will receive the lists as a download option immediately after payment or by email after receipt of the money. Usually as an Excel file with the filter option for individual further processing.

5. Apparently there are also cheaper data providers on the market, what determines their and your price?
The providers of large amounts of data use so-called web crawlers to pull data on specific topics from the Internet. However, only a small part of our data can be read out. Without a very time-consuming control and manual completion, the data is otherwise unusable for you. Our prices are extremely fair, we are in a niche of online data research here. At prices of around EUR 0.70 - EUR 2.50 per contact record, each with around 25-40 data fields, we are far below the prices of conventional data researchers, who also go up to EUR 100 per contact record. Our lists are also significantly cheaper than database usage sold on a subscription basis and, above all, without any commitment. You can sometimes also purchase parts of the overall files tailored to you, so-called focus files (e.g. by region). With our regular updates in the 12 months after purchase, you will always be up to date.


6. How long can I use the list and will there be an update during the period of use?

You personally and members of your company acquire a permanent right to use the list. Within one year of purchase you will receive all updates free of charge to the email address given to us. However, due to the great effort involved in creating our lists, we ask that you understand that we cannot permit the lists and data to be passed on to persons outside your office or company unless we authorize this in writing. In extreme cases, in the event of a gross violation, we must make use of our right to a contractual penalty.

7. How can I make individual inquiries, what does Research-On-Demand cost and how long does it take until I receive my data?

Please contact us on our contact page or give us a call. We have questionnaires, but we can also record your wishes over the phone based on your information and make you an individual offer shortly afterwards. Our set-up costs are quite low and our hourly rates are fair. We try to accommodate your time requirements. We have often already had work to do in relevant sectors, which accelerates the completion of the order.

8. What are your recommendations for successfully addressing the contacts on the lists?

Our data and information details are of exceptionalof similar quality and can be used directly for acquisition or other projects. Since our data are exclusively business addresses, nothing stands in the way of contacting us by letter from the point of view of the GDPR. This also applies to contact via social media contacts such as Xing or Linkedin. Contact via published e-mail addresses should be harmless if the contact person is informed in factual terms about your products and services or if the purpose of contact you have requested is very likely to be of interest to the respective target person. For first contacts, we always recommend an acquisition strategy and approach that is tailored to the contact person and their interests. Contacts at trade fairs and special events for contacts are still a good acquisition platform. A little effort and good preparation usually pays off. Social media is becoming more and more important. Here the contact person sees immediately who they are dealing with.
